I really want to love fall, but I've always found its realities rarely match its promise. I lose energy from the shorter days and constantly get sick due to my kids. Alas, the scenery certainly looks nice.
Michael, Thank you ! I shared with the family and friends. The writing weaved photos into a wonderful thought journey. ART makes our life next level enjoyable.
Spent many a day exploring Prague and you captured it beautifully. I can recall thinking that I needed to take photographs constantly in Prague because everything my eyes fell upon in that city was absolutely breathtaking. Thanks for the reminder.
And I forgot to mention it's one of the largest European cities to completely escape bombing during WWII, which is part of the reason movies like that are filmed there.
So, so beautiful. What would you recommend as the best time to go to Prague? I’ve heard scary things about peak season. Regardless, thanks for the stunning photographs!
Yeah, I don't think I'd go near Prague in the summer. We were there in the second half of October into November and even then the place got danged crowded by afternoon. That's why most of my pictures of the city -- not included here -- were taken in early mornings!
Honestly, the weather was perfect the latter half of October and I'm sure September was lovely too, but the way travel is these days, I imagine it was crowded then. I've heard Prague during December is magical thanks to Christmas, but that also draws crowds. January, February, March, you probably have it to yourself, but it can get darn cold. April is supposed to be the wettest month, with May being a bit better and more things blooming.
I guess you have to pick your poison! But honestly, Prague is so beautiful, it's worth suffering for! IMHO!
I can't disagreee. Clearly, I loved it! We wound up in Kesztheley because we wanted to spend time on Lake Balaton and when a friend of a friend offered us a place there it seemed perfect. Alas, the apartment sucked but the lake was lovely.
I wanted so badly to spend Christmas in Prague but I haven't been able to locate tickets with point deals for business class. We will just have to exercise patience and hope our home sells in the spring so we ca begin our slow journey's.
I love your photos and so excited you are sharing. Enjoy Europe in the fall.
Thanks, Melodie! I would also love to see Prague at Christmas and hope to make it there. But so much of Europe is lovely at Christmas, it's hard to choose!
Hey guys! Long time no comments left lol! What a perfectly lovely whimsical story to read on the way to work this morning, and the pictures are so beautiful. Fall (or Autumn as we tend to call it here) is also my favourite time of year. I’m not sure why, but I feel like I’m being hugged by the sun, the colours and crisp air all at once! We will be in Prague in December, winter. I hope to take photos of a White Wonderland. Well, ok I admit, as well as of the Christmas 🎄 markets around the region.
Unsubscribe the boy, there’s plenty here who are happy to see your photos.
Hey, Jen! I saw your subscription pop up and thought, "Yay!"
And I love the way you describe autumn -- a big hug by nature. Yeah, I can't get enough of it. Here in Bristol I was out walking for almost two hours yesterday on a PERFECT fall morning. And it looks like we have quite a few more coming up so I'm very excited!
And I am crazy jealous you'll see Prague at Christmas! I absolutely want to do that one day! I would love to see your photos!
And thanks for the kind words about the pictures. The reaction has really made my day!
Hi Michael. I’ve been MIA lately. Again. This past year has really zipped past at a fast rate of knots. I blink and another month or two have gone by. This morning, I get some time all by myself. So here I am with a hot cup of tea, madly trying to read all the missed posts, return messages and so on.
Sadly no actual snow in Prague but it was such a wonderful city to spend 5 days exploring. I do have some great photos of the cities and Christmas markets to share but I will quietly admit (don’t tell anyone 😬) I’m not the greatest with technology. I can message etc but it’s very much trial and error actually using it for photos etc. I’m good with insta, maybe it’s the same here? I’ll give it a crack.
Back to Aust and it’s the end of sumner. Leaves are slowly turning and it’s becoming the time when my soul starts to feel a bit more settled.
Right. Back to catching up on your stories first! Take care.
Thanks for taking us on your walk in Prague in October. I love both Prague (went in August years ago - won't do that again!) and October has always been my favorite month.
Dreamy! Prague is looking just like this right now, and I'm loving it so much. A few days ago, the river was draped in fog during our morning walk. So spooky and beautiful. I'm glad you enjoyed your time here so much!
Oooh, you're making me miss it! I admit I thought of you more than once as I was working on this -- both because of Prague and Anne had me thinking of books. And I'm jealous you get to see Prague at Christmas!
Great pictures! But you still take too many...
hehehehe
What's that? You'd like be unsubscribed? Well, if you're sure...
Fantastic photos!

First off, thanks for the kind words! Second, sure, throw the poor kids under the busy. Poor little kidlets get all the blame!
I'm an American -- I mean, what am I supposed to do, take accountability for my choices?!
AMRAN FOR PRESIDENT!!!!

My birthday is October 19, Yorktown day.
Thanks for the kind words and thanks for reading. Also, happy belated birthday!

But I'm sure you made plenty of great memories!
Lovely photos of Prague!
I think that's why whenever movies want to shoot Victorian England or Vienna they often default there...
Thanks!

Prague is underrated! It's the most beautiful capital in Europe! How did you end up in Kesztheley??
I can't disagreee. Clearly, I loved it! We wound up in Kesztheley because we wanted to spend time on Lake Balaton and when a friend of a friend offered us a place there it seemed perfect. Alas, the apartment sucked but the lake was lovely.
Yes Lake Balaton is beautiful! I’m glad you liked it!

Thanks for coming along! And, yeah, August in almost anywhere similar to Prague -- SHUDDER!
Your pictures are beautiful as is your prose. Thank you for sharing. (My birthday is in October, too.)
Thank you, Laurie, and Happy Birthday!
Anne with an e! ❤️
The best!
Glorious!
Thank you!

Absolutely delightful, Michael!!
Thank you!
Lovely! I was in Prague in hot, crowded August and still loved it. Now I want to see it for myself in October.
Glad you survived Prague in August. I absolutely think it's worth a return visit!
